The event was graced by the presence of Samdech Men Sam An, Chairwoman of the Women for Peace and Development of Cambodia, whose support underscored the importance of this initiative in driving impactful change.

Meeting Critical Water Needs

The newly installed filtration system, with a capacity of 500 liters per hour, is designed to provide clean and safe drinking water to over 1,600 students and teachers at the high school. Beyond the school grounds, the system extends its benefits to an additional 3,000 nearby residents, offering them access to safe drinking water and reducing the need for water boiling in households. This initiative not only enhances public health but also contributes to environmental sustainability by decreasing fuel consumption.

Global Safe Drinking Water Program for Schools

As part of its dedication to creating sustainable futures, SIPCO proudly pioneers the Global Safe Drinking Water Program for Schools, with Cambodia as its first overseas focus. Recognizing the urgent need for access to clean water in Least Developed Countries, SIPCO has developed reliable and innovative purification systems tailored specifically to schools.

This program reflects SIPCO’s vision of ensuring that every child and family has access to safe drinking water, fostering better health, and building stronger, more resilient communities.

A Step Toward Sustainable Development

This project is a testament to SIPCO’s commitment to achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in areas related to health, education, and environmental protection. By addressing critical water needs, SIPCO and INTRACO continue to empower communities and inspire partnerships for a better tomorrow.

Looking Ahead

The inauguration of the Kampong Chhnang City High School Water Purification Station is just the beginning. SIPCO remains committed to expanding this program to more schools and communities, contributing to a global movement for sustainability and resilience.
