On April 4, 2025, TH Milk Joint Stock Company and Nui Tien Pure Water Co., Ltd — both subsidiaries of TH Group — became the first two companies in Vietnam to achieve carbon neutrality under the PAS 2060:2014 standard. The event, held in Nghia Dan, Nghe An, marked a major milestone in the country’s green transition.

The Executive Director of Control Union Vietnam presented the carbon neutrality certificate to TH Milk Joint Stock Company and Nui Tien Clean Water Limited Liability Company.
A Clear and Practical Roadmap
TH Group developed its carbon neutrality roadmap based on the GHG Protocol and international best practices. The plan addresses all three emission scopes — direct emissions, energy-related indirect emissions, and value chain emissions.
To meet its goals, TH applied circular economy principles, improved energy efficiency, adopted renewable energy, and promoted sustainable agriculture. These actions helped establish a solid foundation for reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
In 2023, the TH true MILK dairy plant replaced FO oil-fired boilers with biomass ones. This switch alone cut over 7,000 tonnes of CO₂ equivalent per year. TH also improved energy performance by:
-
Replacing metal halide lamps with LEDs, cutting 214 tonnes of CO₂e
-
Installing variable frequency drives in cold storage compressors
-
Upgrading to Turbo Blowers for better airflow
-
Optimizing compressed air pressure levels
Meanwhile, Nui Tien Pure Water Co., Ltd. reduced its environmental footprint by eliminating shrink wrap on bottle caps and reducing bottle weight. It also installed solar panels, which help avoid nearly 1,000 tonnes of CO₂ annually. By 2025, the company plans to shift completely from fossil fuel to biomass boilers.
To neutralize remaining emissions, TH Group — under INTRACO’s guidance — invested in two impactful offset mechanisms:
-
VCS 2548 Cookstove Project: Supporting the free distribution of improved cookstoves to rural low-income households, reducing biomass use and improving public health.
-
International Renewable Energy Certificates (IRECs): Sourced from Vietnamese wind power projects, these contribute to clean energy expansion and support green job creation.
These offsets not only balance emissions but also drive co-benefits aligned with multiple Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including clean energy access, forest protection, and rural economic uplift.

Technical Expertise Meets Strategic Impact
As Vietnam’s leading carbon consulting firm, INTRACO guided TH Group from start to finish. Our team supported everything — from emissions inventory and reduction planning to MRV (Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification) and offset strategy.
Thanks to our technical expertise, all reductions and offsets met the strict criteria of the PAS 2060 standard. INTRACO also helped ensure transparency and accuracy throughout the process.
Control Union Vietnam issued the certification after confirming TH Milk and Nui Tien Pure Water had successfully reduced and offset their emissions. This recognition makes them the first companies in Vietnam to achieve verified carbon neutrality under PAS 2060.

A Shared Vision for Climate Leadership
The launch of TH Group’s Net Zero Roadmap marks a turning point for sustainability in Vietnam’s agribusiness sector. With INTRACO’s guidance, TH has set a new standard for climate leadership.
This partnership shows how science-based strategies and strong collaboration can lead to real environmental progress. INTRACO remains committed to helping more businesses embrace carbon neutrality and drive the green transition across Vietnam.
