Public announcement on Grouped Projects For Laos Water Purifier (VCS project ID 3204)

The Grouped Projects for Laos Water Purifier (VCS Project ID 3204) is a community-driven initiative that addresses both climate change and public health by expanding access to safe drinking water in Lao PDR.

Under this project, Verified Carbon Units (VCUs) may be issued for the greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reductions and removals generated through the use of Ecozen-25 water purifiers. These devices are manufactured by Viet Charcoal Production Company Limited, located in Di Su Commune, My Hao District, Hung Yen Province, Viet Nam, and are distributed by the Sustainability Investment Promotion and Development Joint Stock Company (SIPCO) under their project activity titled “Grouped Projects for Laos Water Purifier”.

The Ecozen-25 water purifier reduces the need for households and communities to boil water using wood, charcoal, or other traditional fuels. This transition not only cuts carbon emissions but also eases pressure on local forests and reduces harmful indoor air pollution.

Beyond environmental gains, the project provides essential social and health benefits. Access to safe, reliable drinking water helps lower the risk of waterborne diseases, improves household well-being, and reduces the time and resources spent on collecting fuelwood.
