Public announcement on Grouped Projects for Viet Nam Cookstove Program (VCS project ID 2923)

The Grouped Projects for Viet Nam Cookstove Program (VCS Project ID 2923) is a large-scale initiative designed to cut greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions while improving household living conditions through the use of cleaner and more efficient cookstoves across Viet Nam.

Under this program, carbon credits may be issued through the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) for verified emission reductions and removals associated with the adoption of TK90 and Ecozen cookstoves. These stoves are manufactured by Viet Charcoal Production Company Limited, located in Di Su Commune, My Hao District, Hung Yen Province, Viet Nam, and distributed by the Sustainability Investment Promotion and Development Joint Stock Company (SIPCO).

The TK90 and Ecozen models are designed to significantly improve cooking efficiency, reducing the reliance on non-renewable biomass such as firewood and charcoal. By lowering fuel consumption, the project helps decrease GHG emissions, protect local forests, and mitigate indoor air pollution that poses serious health risks.

In addition to measurable climate benefits, the program brings important social and economic impacts. Households using improved cookstoves experience cleaner kitchens, reduced smoke exposure, and savings on household fuel expenses. The project also supports local production and distribution networks, contributing to job creation and sustainable economic growth.
