On September 19, 2024, the Thai Nguyen Provincial Women’s Union (VWU) and partnering businesses organized a gift-giving event to support families of women’s union members impacted by Super Typhoon Yagi in several localities: Hoa Thuong Town (Dong Hy); Thuong Dinh and Xuan Phuong communes (Phu Binh); Yen Ninh commune (Phu Luong); and the Huong Ha Nguyet Social Protection Center (Dong Hy).

The severe flooding caused by Typhoon Yagi left nearly 1,200 households of VWU members submerged, with almost 300 families suffering extensive damage due to prolonged flooding, resulting in significant property loss and water contamination.

At the designated locations, representatives from the Provincial VWU and partnering businesses—including the Sustainability Investment Promotion and Development Joint Stock Company (SIPCO), Investment and Trade Consultancy Company Limited (INTRACO), and SMK Vietnam Joint Stock Company—delivered 280 water purifiers and 450 LED light bulbs to affected households. These gifts are aimed at helping flood victims access clean drinking water, replace damaged lighting, and quickly restore stability in their lives.

The delegation also provided 500 kg of rice and 20 water purifiers to the Huong Ha Nguyet Social Protection Center, which cares for 67 elderly individuals, including 17 who are homeless.

The total value of the donations made by the delegation across all locations is estimated at 350 million VND.
